Carmen Sandiego Returns-A Global Spy Game for Kids App Reviews

Why have I paid for a game, only to need to make iap to continue play. This business model makes this game horrible. This practice should be something that Apple looks into soon.

There is no skill involved in this game. You move the icon around until it turns red. Go to another location and do the same thing. Then choose the culprit and navigate a tunnel (same one each time). I remember it taking hours to play this game and while I have more background knowledge and better reasoning skills than when I was a child, it should still take longer than 10 minutes to play a level. I wouldnt even want my child playing this game as again, there is absolutely no skill involved and not the slightest bit educational as the original game was. Additionally, there are only 6 levels total. Not worth the download.

I downloaded this game because I loved playing Carmen Sandiego as a kid and remembered wanting to be a contestant on the show. I was happy with it, although it didnt require much skill or knowledge to advance and the clues and facts were repetitive. I wish it was more challenging and not as repetitive. If you download it, you get three missions. If you want to continue playing more missions, you have to pay $1.99 and you only get three more missions. Thats it. Three. There are no more missions. Ridiculous. I was hoping that if I purchased the game, it would come with several missions, but much to my disappointment, you only get three more. Definitely not worth it.

Only three cases included, and two of them are unsolvable without guessing. No matter how many times I search the scene, only two clues are found and Im left guessing where to go next.

I didnt realize that I was paying $2 for three mini games. It is a waste of money to solve it all in the matter of an hour. Not worth it.

Paid for 3 pitiful but addicting missions. Thats it. Dont buy it. Its amazing but a rip off.

I was excited to see this game, having loved playing it as a kid. This game could be amazing... But lacks the length, diversity and challenge of the original game. Such a disappointment. It took me literally 15 minutes to complete all the challenges with full stars. I would have been much more impressed if they just re-did the original game and made it compatible with current devices. Now thats a game I would have paid money for.

The initial app purchase only comes with 3 missions - then you have to buy more. There arent even that many more, either, so no matter how you slice it, its not worth buying. The game itself is ok, I wish it was a little more challenging. Too bad, because I LOVED Carmen Sandiego as a kid.

I loved any and all Carmen Sandiego games growing up so I was excited when I saw this app and even with the $1.99 pricetag I was hopeful. Needless to say I beat the game in a few hours and find it insane that a paid app is so short and then requires more purcahses for additional levels. I have many free games(aps) that I have yet to beat and are more well done and fun. Needless to say I have already deleted this app and sad I spent $1.99 on it. The makers obviously was hoping on the fans of the series to blindly purchase so they could make some quick and easy money...

I was so excited when I found this app, and the price concerned me, but I expected the depth of the game I used to play. I was incredibly disappointed. The levels are short and easily beaten, and even with buying the other levels, I finished the game will all levels completed and badges achieved within a few hours. The fact that I had to pay for more levels makes it even worse. As sad as it is to admit, this game is NOT worth buying.

Way too easy. It should have at least been free and then made you pay for the extra levels. Waste of time and money.

Updating my review: Im extremely disappointed that the new update requires additional purchases in order to play. Ive already purchased the other levels. If this is how each update is planned to be then I wont continue you using this app or having my son use it. Its a shame as I loved this show as a kid and thought it to be a great tool for my son to learn with. I have played plenty of other "mystery/hidden" games that had an "unlock all" price (usually about $2.99) that unlocked all current and future levels/features. My recommendation is you do the same. I beat this game in two days. (And yes I purchased the additional levels). Just wondering when more levels would be added. Also, the "underground" running sequence is a little spotty. It also brings up a menu on my iPhone when I swipe up to jump. Terribly annoying but not sure how to fix it. It doesnt happen in other similar games. (I.e. Temple Run, Minions...)

Every time I do, I get stuck in this window saying trying to connect with the App Store. It just says there.

I payed $2 to play 20 minutes of seek and find. Cmon. I loved this game, at least make the extra missions free. And the capture of the criminal in the underground path, total let down.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay for a game, you only get three levels and then have to pay for more. If initial game was free I could understand but to pay $5 for the game and then I have to pay a dollar to upgrade every level. I would get my money back if I could.

I was very excited to see that there was a new Carmen Sandiago game out when I loved playing the computer game when I was a kid. But soon after my excitement (literally less than a day) I finished the first 3 levels only to be prompted by the problem of having to pay another $1 after the $2 I already paid for the game to get 3 more levels. I feel that this is a very disappointing let down. I dont recommend buying this game unless the creators fix this and make it one set price to play the whole game. I expect in app purchases from a game I got for free, not from one I already paid for. Very disappointed.

I was expecting something like what I played as a child but it has been changed so much its almost unplayable. There is so much unnecessary added features that take away from the original game. Plus everything costs money. Honestly I want my money back. Not worth $1.99+tax.

All this game requires is five bucks, no brains and no skill needed. I played Carmen when I was young and watched the kids game show where you actually had to know things or use logic, this piece of crap gives you ALL the answers. All this game is, is a scam to get money from ppl who grew up with real educational television.
