Carmen Sandiego Returns-A Global Spy Game for Kids App Reviews

Huge huge huge ripoff! You have to pay for each mission and this game is nothing like the original. I should of read more reviews before purchasing but I was excited to share a childhood game and I am more than disappointed! Every person that has purchased this deserves their money back! Starting with me! RIPOFF!!!!!!

You have to pay to download this app, and this only includes three missions. For every extra bundle of three missions, you have to pay another 99 cents. My eight year old finished all three missions in less than half an hour. I downloaded this purely for nostalgic reasons, and the game play was somewhat similar to what I remembered playing as a child, but what parent wants to pay to download a game, only to find out that they will have to continually pay some more each time their child beats a three pack of missions? I wouldve actually paid a few more bucks on the initial download in order to get all the content, rather than be hoodwinked into paying to download what feels like a preview of a game.

With so many free games out there, it was tough to buy one, but nostalgia win. There appears to be a glitch in mission 3 and to keep playing the game, you have to keep dishing out more money. Save your money. Get a different game.

All was great till the mission at the end. If I wanted to play a badly designed temple run type mission, I would be playing temple run and not Carmen sandiego ! Its a way to sell in store purchases and buy more time - terrible !! Please remove the mission at the end and stick to what people come to Carmen sandiego for - a detective hunt based on clues.

Couldnt play the game because u have to pay for coins you dont get no free ones and you have to use coins to do everything travel, see suspects etc... Im mad I paid for this and cant play it. This was a fun game back in the day now they just took the fun out of it.

First you have to pay for the app, which is fine. I dont mind buying an app, however, everything is an in-app purchase on top of that. I think you can play one world with the initial purchase of the game. Everything else costs more money. No thanks!

This game is too expensive first you pay for the game and that you have to pay to play the game. Once it is paid for it should be free to play.

Horrible. Tutorial doesnt work. Nothing works. Truly a waste of space. Words cannot describe how heinous this game is.

I cant believe I paid 4 dollars for this game. No expansion the 15 levels is all you get once you play those the app is useless. What a waste. Doesnt even deserve the one star I am required to give it.

Pretty irritated! It gives you 4 clues then doesnt tell you how or where to find the rest. I bought more coins for $.99. It charged me for them but I still have the same amount! I never got my 500 coins to attempt to continue the game! This is a POS game and I want my $.99 back! Carmen is a thief!

This game ran so slow on my iPhone 5 that I gave up playing after creating my agent id.

As other reviewers have said, Carmen Sandiego holds quite s bit of nostalgia for many of us. Its true that that is there. The game doesnt tell you how many clues are in each scene and the limited availability of cities and clues related to those cities takes away from the educational aspect of giving this game to a child to learn about geography/history. Would love to see opportunity to have different levels of clues/mysteries (easy, medium, hard). That would make it a game that could age with a kid (and give them the same love 20-somethings feel). I have been having problems even running the app. It crashes repeatedly and freezes/glitches. Unfortunately I wouldnt recommend this game (even for nostalgia) until it is less buggy. :/

Downloaded this game and as soon as I did my phone was constantly crashing, freezing, deleting texts, contacts, and made my phone vibrate for no reason at all. Never thought it could be the game until I was about to purchase a new phone and went to delete the app and miraculously my phone went back to normal. This lasted for a week straight. I almost just wasted money on a new phone because this stupid game screwed everything up for me.

This game had potential, a throw back to the original game, I was excited to play and put through the first three missions in the first day...great!! Then I realize thats it, Id have to pay to continue playing...what kind of crock is this, I understand having some IAPs for coins or add on material...but I get no more missions...thats a bait and switch if you ask me. Im deleting this immediately!

App crashes left, right, and center. Didnt even get to play the game, which is disappointing cause I was looking forward to it.

For the first 2 minutes, Ive been "receiving transmissions" with nothing else to do but wait. Pretty crappy UX if you ask me.

I dont normally write reviews, but my love for Carmen has moved to write one. The game itself is fine. I wish I knew how many clues were in each location, but I enjoyed looking for them. I like the mini-games and the snippets of facts, but my biggest issue with the game is the lack of missions. You get three and then you have to pay for more. Im not about to do that. I play a lot of games that require in-game purchases, but Ive never not been able to continue with a game without making buying the next level. I can understand having "special missions" as purchase, but not the main storyline. It makes no sense to me and because of that, I will most likely be deleting the app. I hate to do that, but pay-for-play is not my style. I might occasionally buy coins or something in a game, but not levels or missions. Its a nice little dose of nostalgia, but unless they add more free missions, Im done.

Ok I did the first three fast and was disappointed when you had to pay for the rest but I liked it so much I purchased it. But then only had another 3 missions. Totally not worth it

The game is fun and makes you think but you only get three missions for free and then you must pay for the other three missions. Im not paying for three short missions
